From Universal monsters to psychological mind games, next year is shaping up to be a killer in all the best ways. So buckle up, and let’s dive into five horror films we’re eagerly awaiting—each one guaranteed to mess with your mind, and maybe even your sleep schedule!

Lukas Gage and Sophie Thatcher in Companion (2024)

5: COMPANION (2024)

A new kind of love story.

Hey you. Tired of swiping? Sick of getting ghosted? Are you feeling like a part of you is missing? FindYourCompanion.com is guaranteed to find you a Companion who’s made for you.

This Sci/Fi Terror blends three personal faves from the horror sphere: Quaid of The Boys fame, Thatcher for Yellowjackets and the loveable Gizmo/Joaquim of WWDTS and Werewolves Within. Coming Jan. 10 – we can’t wait to get this in out eyeballs!

Ex. Release: Jan 31st 2025

4. HEART EYES (2025)

Romance is Dead.

Written by Phillip Murphy, Christopher Landon, Michael Kennedy and Directed by Josh Ruben – Starring: Jordana Brewster, Devon Sawa and Olivia Holt

Produced by Divide/Conquer, Ground Control, Screen Gems

The early oughts certainly gave us the best, brightest and most beautiful horror stars in one terrifying film…guess what folks? They’re back!! Ruben’s film looks like love gone wrong and wretched. Dating is hell and will leave you for dead.

Ex. Release: Feb 7th 2025

3. THE MONKEY (2025)

Everybody Dies. And that’s fucked up.

Written by Stephen King and Osgood Perkins, Directed by Osgood Perkins, Starring: Theo James, Elijah Wood, and Osgood Perkins

When twin brothers Hal and Bill discover their father’s old monkey toy in the attic, a series of gruesome deaths start occurring all around them.

Produced by Atomic Monster, Black Bear International, C2 Motion Picture Group

Not to be confused by the film Monkey Shines based on a novel by Michael Stewart, this monkey tale seems to be a story of the attic find that should have stayed hidden. I do love me some horror Elijah and the tag line slaps – so we’ll see!

Ex. Release: Feb 21st 2025

2. WOLF MAN (2025)

Protect your own.

Written by Leigh Whannell and Corbin Tuck, Directed by Leigh Whannell, Starring: Julia Garner, Christopher Abbott and Matilda Firth

With his marriage fraying, Blake persuades his wife Charlotte to take a break from the city and visit his remote childhood home in rural Oregon. As they arrive at the farmhouse in the dead of night, they’re attacked by an unseen animal and barricade themselves inside the home as the creature prowls the perimeter. But as the night stretches on, Blake begins to behave strangely, transforming into something unrecognizable.

Produced by Blumhouse Productions, Ground Control, Motel Movies

Before you even ask, no, I haven’t had enough werewolf movies, thank you. The theme of violence, trauma and crumbling relationships is a heady mixture already – throw in folk horror and legend AND a Universal Monstah – SOLD!

Ex. Release – Jan 17th 2025

1. 28 YEARS LATER (2025)

In 28 days it began. In 28 weeks it spread. In 28 years it evolved.

Written by Alex Garland and Danny Boyle, Directed by Danny Boyle, Starring: Aaron Taylor-Johnson, Jodie Comer, and Cillian Murphy

It’s been almost three decades since the rage virus escaped a biological weapons laboratory, and now, still in a ruthlessly enforced quarantine, some have found ways to exist amidst the infected. One such group of survivors lives on a small island connected to the mainland by a single, heavily-defended causeway. When one of the group leaves the island on a mission into the dark heart of the mainland, he discovers secrets, wonders, and horrors that have mutated not only the infected but other survivors as well.

Produced by Columbia Pictures, British Film Institute (BFI), Decibel Films

What a long strange trip it’s been from Cillian sprinting down across London Bridge to zombies that have ret-conned into The Flash…and a lot of us are still hungry for more!!

Ex. Release – June 2025
